Passports and visas
If you’re a UK passport holder travelling to
Walt Disney World
Resort in Florida, you’ll
need to either register with the Electronic
System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) or
apply for a U.S. visa, dependant on what type
of passport you hold.
British passport holders may enter the United
States without a visa under the Visa Waiver
Program (VWP) if they hold a machine-
readable passport and register with the
United States through ESTA in advance of
their travel. The majority of‘new style’red
British passports are machine readable.
To complete your registration visit:
Should your passport not be machine
readable, it will be necessary for you to either
obtain a new passport or apply for a U.S. visa.
Your passport must also be valid for at least
six months beyond your return date.
For the latest information on passports and
US visa requirements, visit the UK Passport
service at
If you’re a non-UK passport holder, or your
passport’s endorsed in any way, check your
visa requirements at the US Embassy website:
Health precautions & vaccinations
If you’ve got specific health needs, seek
advice as early as possible. The good news is,
at the time of print, there are NO obligatory
vaccinations for the USA for those travelling
direct from the UK.
However, precautions recommended by
the health authorities can change at any
time. Sources of information include the

Travel Insurance
If you want to forget your worries, remember
your travel insurance! Comprehensive
travel insurance for you and your party, for
the duration of your holiday, is STRONGLY
recommended.
And make sure it has adequate cover against
sickness or injury. Remember, hospitals in the
US can sometimes ask for proof of insurance
before any treatment can commence.
Walking
So let’s take a look at your transport options,
starting from the ground up. Your feet will be
your best friends on holiday. But only if you’re
wearing comfy shoes! You’ll be amazed how
much ground you cover in the Parks when
you’re having fun.
Even if you use the itinerary on the back of
this guide to plan your visit to the max, you’ll
still be walking a lot.
Complimentary transport
Of course, for travel BETWEEN the Parks you
can sit back and take the weight off with our
complimentary transport, including boat,
mono-rail and air-conditioned buses.
If you’re staying in a
Walt Disney World
Resort
Hotel, there’s FREE transport from Orlando
International Airport available to get you to
the resort.
Disney’s Magical Express
will zip you
effortlessly to the Resort along with your bags.
Car hire
Hiring a car is easy from any of the airports or
from the car care centre near
Magic Kingdom
Park. In fact, cars are pretty handy for getting
around generally because they’re not big on
pavements in Orlando itself.
Or if you don’t fancy driving all the tim
there’s plenty of cabs and public transp
you to take advantage of.
